For the 4th consecutive year, YIOTIS S.A. continues to implement its Corporate Social Responsibility Program “A hope is born!” As an unwavering supporter of families and Greek society over the years, YIOTIS Company seeks to help reduce the low birth rate which is particularly threatening Greece, leading to a demographic impasse.
The ‘A hope is born!’ program is being implemented in collaboration with the Non Profit Company HOPEgenesis in 90 remote mainland villages of Greece where deaths outnumbered births. As part of this program, YIOTIS Company covers the cost of prenatal tests and childbirth, encouraging women living in these remote areas to realise their dream of becoming mothers. YIOTIS Company also undertakes to provide baby food for the first two years of life of the babies born under the program. To date the Company has provided more than 100.000 portions of JOTIS baby milk and cream.
The results from the first three years of implementing the program to revitalize these isolated villages are encouraging indeed. At the start of the program, these villages had very low or zero births. However, as of today, more than 55 babies have been delivered or are expected soon. The fact that many of the families benefiting from the program, also acquire a second baby, is particularly encouraging.
