1930: ΥΙΟΤΙS by the side of children and mothers.

Yannis and Maria Yiotis founded YIOTIS S.A. in 1930, at a very difficult time for our country because of the prevailing high rates of malnutrition and child mortality. From the outset, they focused on the company’s humanitarian and innovative profile simultaneously. They presented the first standardized baby foods in Greece, JOTIS Anthos Aravositou and Anthos Orizis, thereby providing the solution to a very critical problem of that era. From that time and until today, the ΥΙΟΤΙS company has supported the Greek family and has stood resolutely by the side of children and mothers with uncompromising quality and innovation, helping to raise "strong children from a cradle".

Low Birth Rates: a demographic impasse for Greece.

Declining birth rates are a threat to all societies. Europe in particular, also known as the "Old Continent", is on its way to literally becoming an "old" continent, as birth rates gradually decrease, while at the same time the average life expectancy of its population is increasing. Sadly, our country leads these statistics, as it has the lowest birth rate in Europe.

In remote areas of Greece, the problem of low birth rates is even greater. The main reason is that although many women would like to have a child, they are worried and hesitant about doing so because of the difficult conditions, including limited access to medical/maternity facilities. Consequently, they are moving further and further away from the idea of having a child, and local communities are withering as a result.

The ΥΙΟΤΙS company, which in addition to its business activity always considers its social footprint, now presents a social responsibility initiative aimed at helping to reduce the low birth rate that is seriously threatening the future prospects of our country. Embracing the goals of the civil non-profit organization HOPEgenesis, which is active in the fight against the low birth rates in Greece, YIOTIS S.A. has created the "A Hope is Born!" program with the aim of encouraging and supporting births in Greece.

The Program: "A Hope is Born!"

Support is needed to give birth to this hope.

Through the "A Hope is Born" program, which aims to reduce the low birth rate in Greece, the ΥΙΟΤΙS Company supports women who dream of becoming mothers, in 90 remote villages belonging to the Regions of Central Greece and Epirus. Specifically in the Regional Units of Evrytania, Phocis, Phthiotida, Evia and Arta and, in particular, in the 15 Municipal Units of the Municipalities of Karpenisi, Dorida, Lamia, Makrakomi, Karystos and Central Tzoumerka.

In collaboration with the non-profit organization HOPEgenesis, YIOTIS S.A. supports them on their wonderful journey towards motherhood, fully covering all prenatal examinations, childbirth, travel as well as their accommodation! At the same time, the Company takes charge of spreading a message of encouragement for having a child to all interested expectant mothers of these disadvantaged areas, through informative actions, speeches and on-site meetings. In addition, it will meet the nutritional needs of the babies born in the 90 villages that it has "adopted", with JOTIS baby food products, for the first two years of their lives.
