For the 7th consecutive year, the Corporate Social Responsibility Program “A Hope is Born!” by YIOTIS S.A., in collaboration with the non-profit organization HOPEgenesis, continues its mission to fight against low birth rates. The Program covers 90 remote villages across the Regional Units of Arta, Evrytania, Fokida, Fthiotida, and Evia, within 14 Municipal Units of the municipalities of Central Tzoumerka, Karpenisi, Dorida, Lamia, Makrakomi, and Karystos. The common factor among these remote villages is their negative birth-to-death ratio.
Since November 2018, when the Program was initiated, YIOTIS S.A. has stood by the women residents of these remote villages who wish to become mothers. Specifically, for women who participate in the program, with the sole criterion being permanent residency in these areas, YIOTIS S.A. covers all pregnancy and childbirth expenses. Additionally, the company provides maximum care for newborns, meeting their nutritional needs with baby food for the first two years of their lives. To date, the company has provided over 150,000 servings of JOTIS baby milk and baby cereal to infants born through the program.
Encouragingly, 75 babies have been born so far through the “A Hope is Born!” initiative, with another 5 expected soon. As a result, negative birth rates in these remote villages are beginning to reverse, and hope is being reborn.
Fueled by this hope, YIOTIS S.A. remains steadfast in supporting the increase in birth rates in Greece through the “A Hope is Born!” Program.
